Coach Code of Conduct and Policies

Important Dates

  1. Fall season runs from the end of August through the first week in November except for Tournaments happening at the end of November.
  2. Winter season runs Early January- Early March
  3. Spring season runs from the end of March through early June, except Memorial Day weekend.
  4. Regular season games are played on Sundays.
  5. Teams will practice at least 2 times at least per week.
  6. Tryouts take place between May or June.

 

Coach Expectations

  1. Coaches are responsible for the safety of their players. Ensure that your field surfaces, field equipment, player equipment, and training activities are safe.
  2. Be positive! Provide a positive learning environment for the players and allow them to have FUN.
  3. Promote fair play, good sportsmanship, and good citizenship. Always be a positive role model.
  4. Coaches are responsible for the behavior of their players and spectators.
  5. No coach, player, or spectator shall dispute decisions made by the referee.
  6. No coach, player, or spectator shall use profane language.
  7. Communicate practice/game times to your parents and players in a timely manner.
  8. Be on time for practices and games (30 minutes prior for games or as specified).
  9. Never leave the field before your last player.
  10. There is a zero-tolerance policy regarding the use of alcohol, drugs, and tobacco products at any America FC United event.
  11. Loyalty. As a coach in America FC United, I will at all times act to enhance the goodwill of the Club. I will not solicit or assist any third party coach, team, association or club in soliciting any America FC United player away from America FC United.
  12. No Disparagement. If I have a complaint about the Club, or any of its officers, directors or representatives, I will direct my complaint to that person or the America FC United Board of Directors. During my tenure as a coach and thereafter, I will not for any reason comment (orally or in writing) negatively about America FC United, or its officers, directors or representatives to any person or entity, disparage or defame America FC United or its officers, directors or representatives, or their respective capabilities.
  13. Consequences of Violations. I agree that if, in the sole and exclusive determination of the America FC United Board of Directors, I fail to follow the above Code of Conduct in any manner, America FC United may immediately terminate my coaching assignment. I understand the Club may at its sole option take other action, and I will abide by this decision. Such actions may include, but not necessarily limited to, monetary fines, probation, or suspension. These rights and remedies of America FC United shall not be exclusive, and I may be subject to legal action if my conduct is serious enough to warrant it, in the sole and absolute discretion of the America FC United Board of Directors. I further agree to hold America FC United, its officers, employees, representatives and Board Members harmless if and when they elect to exercise any such action.

Do NOT be a player’s last coach. You do NOT want to be the reason a child gives up on a sport. The 24 Hour Rule: Parent/Guardians may request a meeting or discussion with the Coach or Director. Such a meeting however shall not take place until a minimum of 24 hours after the request has been made and a minimum of 24 hours after a game.
